“Give. Even when you know you can get nothing back.”
Although the so called “gift giving” season is over, it doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t give gifts to our loved ones. Sometimes surprise gifts are better than ones on the holidays. I recently learned how to give great gifts. As long as something comes from the heart, it will be appreciated. Yes, expensive things are nice, but not all gifts have to be super elaborate and expensive to make someone happy. It can be as easy as handwriting a lot of notes and hiding them in your loved one’s pockets or bags for them to find as they go about their day. Even just spending time with someone can be the greatest gift of all. My mother’s birthday is coming up and I went out today and bought her some new clothes and I’m also planning on decorating her room with little paper heart chains and making her breakfast in bed. Also, use your resources to your advantage! If you live by the beach, suggest that you and whoever you’re giving the gift to go for a walk on the beach while the sun is setting. Or even just take a walk in the community park. A switch from the normal day-to-day routine will make that person feel loved and appreciated. So surprise someone today with a gift to let them know that you appreciate them!
Don’t forget to smile!! 🙂
