Innovation: finding a need and fulfilling it

on October 29, 2013

“Be the one who nurtures and builds. Be the one who has an understanding and a forgiving heart one who looks for the best in people. Leave people better than you found them.”

– Marvin J. Ashton

Throughout my life I have seen and heard of people who are not happy with their everyday life and want to change it, but they do nothing to change it. At a lot of places, I see people who look like they were up all night, people who aren’t happy with their jobs, people who just look miserable and anxious in general. In order to brighten their day a little, I have decided to print and laminate QR codes that people can scan with their smartphones or tablets. The codes would have links or pictures to different things that will make a person’s day brighter. You will never know if that’s the only positive thing they will hear all day or if it will just give them a boost of confidence to do whatever they set out to do. I want to try to post them around my school because many times I see my classmates and others looking really stressed and tired. I will put links to different pictures that i find that make me happy or videos to help bring more happiness into people’s everyday lives. I will also put a link to this blog and maybe gain a bigger audience. You can also do a project like mine around places where you see a general drop in mood. Be sure to tell me how it goes! I am going to document it on here and perhaps videotape the steps that I take to do this innovation project. Last night I watched a YouTube video about this 9-year old boy, “kid president” and I found myself filled with joy after watching it.  Watch the video here.

I’m planning on making 20-30 codes so I will need a lot of content. I already have some ideas but if you have pictures or videos that you think will help, please link them below. I am going to need a lot more media if I want this to become a big thing. Thanks!

Don’t forget to smile because you’re worth it. 🙂
